Living a healthy and clean lifestyle can be easier with the right tools. As a two-time breast cancer survivor and healthy living writer / motivational speaker, I’m always asked about my favorite foods and gadgets, so thought it would be fun if I shop with you. Below are some of my recommendations. This list is filled with items I suggest to anyone wanting to shop focused on healthy living or disease prevention including some cancer guides. Whether it’s eating clean, living non-toxic or inspiring others to take small steps toward better health, enjoy the healthy journey and shop below.
When I’m asked about my favorite books for a quick-read clean-living 101 education, these are the books that pop to mind. Arianna Huffington and Gabby Bernstein are my go-to-gurus to educate on the power and simplicity of meditation. The other books are filled with information about non-toxic home living.
This row of books are perfect for a quick, easy, inspirational read (or gift.)
When I was first diagnosed with breast cancer, I looked for easy-reads that were positive and inspirational. Kris Carr and David Servan-Schreiber’s books truly helped me deal with my diagnosis and embrace taking are of my health through the treatments. I mostly relied on people I knew to help guide me through my initial diagnosis, which is why I wrote Happiness through Hardship: A Guide for Cancer Patients, Their Caregivers and Friends During an Initial Cancer Diagnosis so that I could be that friend guiding those touched by cancer especially if they didn’t have people nearby to help them.
Hands down – these are my must-haves for a simple clean-eating kitchen. The Vitamix is the best pricey purchase – EVER. I use it as a blender and food processor. I make smoothies, soups and sauces in it. I also seldom use plastic anymore so mason jars and glass containers are how I store my leftovers or meal planned items.
Here are some of my favorite tools that help make sleeping easy and beauty simple. Below are a few of my favorite green beauty finds. I love the Beauty Counter brand. I’ve also tried most non-toxic mascaras and the below Mineral Fusion one continues to be the best. For face and body wash products, I like the Dr. Bronner’s brand. I use the tea tree oil on my face and the peppermint on my body. I’ve also included other products for kids and adults.
